Where in the world are the Digsbys?

Well, our 2 sweet boys are being cared for by our GA family and friends. We know God would not have chosen us to come to China had He not set up a precious crew of loved ones to watch out for our boys so this would be possible. We are so blessed to have such caring helping hands! Thank you so much for that - you know who you are! Also, thank you all for taking the time to follow us along. It's been fun to see your comments. Our online postings have been with much frustration and delay from computer-wise, so it's encouraging to know you guys are following along after all the effort it takes...makes it worthwhile :). So what about the rest of this fab fam of five? We are in Kunming (a "small city" of just 7,000,000 people) in the Yunnan Province (where Amazing Race has taken place the past few weeks)! Tom can't get over that there are cities this large in the world that we've never even heard of! This city is quite nice - it's got lots of landscaping and right near our hotel is an amazing park that we've walked around quite a bit. The park has ponds with big hungry fish to feed, vendors, dancers, musicians...it's quite interesting. No one speaks English and they are quite fascinated with these 2 Americans and a Chinese baby...we get lots of stares. The city's tall buildings go on and on as far as you can see and then are outlined by mountains. We are dissapointed that we are not able to make a trip to Elita's city and orphanage, but it's about a 10 hour drive each way. So, we'll have to just picture what it might be like in our minds, and her nannies gave us some pictures taken with the camera we sent a few months ago with her care package, so that helps a little. They have put us in a really nice Western hotel with some American food choices nearby and there is a big breakfast buffet here daily...Elita and I go ahead and have our dinner for breakfast every day...otherwise veggies are kindof hard to come by. We have met 4 adopting families staying here. We all fly out this afternoon to Guangzhou, where the US Consolate is...final medicals and paperwork. So, Elita gets to go on her first flight today! Thankfully it's just a couple hours...let's not think about the flight a week from now...about 26 hours of travel. But, we'll be home a week from today. YAY!
